The Berkshire Healthcare Harvest Run raised more than $15,000 for the Berkshire Community College nursing program scholarship on Saturday, October 21, during the annual trail run and cook-off. More than 170 runners, including adults, students and children, participated in the trail run, relay and kids race.

Of the few long-term care and senior living providers in Massachusetts recognized this year by National Research Corporation for exceptional customer and employee satisfaction, Berkshire Healthcare communities captured about seventy-five percent – 19 out of 25 – of the Massachusetts awards.

Berkshire Healthcare facilities awarded electronic health record funds
Berkshire Healthcare Systems, which provides long-term nursing and post-acute care in Berkshire County and across Massachusetts, has been awarded $82,500 to improve patient care and safety through enhanced technology. The Massachusetts e-Health Institute (MeHI) awarded the funds through the eQuality Incentive Program (eQIP). Berkshire County affiliates that will benefit include Hillcrest Commons and Mt. Greylock Extended Care in Pittsfield, Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox, Williamstown Commons and North Adams Commons.

North Adams Commons receives national recognition for quality initiatives
The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) recently recognized North Adams Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Adams for achieving national quality goals. North Adams Commons achieved Tier IV status, the highest level of recognition in the AHCA/NCAL’s Quality Initiative.
